Oh, please, don’t! No another politically incorrect thing to do! I am from Spain, living in the USA. My wife often comments that my accent was one of the things that she first liked about me. I speak four languages and I have an accent in each one of them. Yes, even in Spanish: people from South or Central America laugh and say «Oh, español!», often imitating my accent. I laugh back. Just yesterday I started a conversation with some Chileans at the gym just because I love their accent so much. And putting accents in the characters in my novels is so much fun! There is nothing wrong about accents, it’s an important part of who we are. And those questions? I get them all the time. What I hear is: «I notice you are different and I accept that».
