A bad ending can ruin a good story. That last sentence is a non-sequitur, a hipérbole and quite self-serving.

Other than that, it is interesting how Socrates and the Buddha came to the same conclusion about ignorance. But I am not fully convinced that ignorance alone can explain evil or suffering. There are some foundational moral values that one can accept or reject. Knowledge can inform that decision but it is doesn’t change the fact that is a choice we ultimately need to make.
